Kathy fears downfall in EastEnders as villain swoops back into the lives of the Six
Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) starts to wonder if a certain Christmas Day murder is about to be revisited yet again in EastEnders soon, as Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) leaves her feeling worried.
Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walter) murder was the centre of Walford gossip last month when Dean (Matt Di Angelo) took to the stand and faced trial following his arrest.
The situation fell apart completely after he finally admitted to raping Linda, throwing her false testimony that she’d seen him dragging Keanu’s body into the café on Christmas night into doubt.
Aware the remaining members of The Six could face questioning from the police again, Linda sacrificed herself and went to prison, confessing to the lead detective that she killed Keanu.
However, the aftermath didn’t play out as she thought.
The officer dismissed her, finding holes in her story and believed she had been drinking.
Desperate to find peace, Linda headed back to the Square and straight to the caff, where Bernie was working late.
As the truth came spilling out, a distressed Bernie attacked Linda and started to strangle her – mirroring how her brother had strangled Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) shortly before Linda stabbed him to save her best mate’s life.
After receiving a warning from Phil Mitchell’s lawyer Ritchie Scott (Sian Webber) that Linda had been to the police station to confess, Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) and Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) arrived at the caff to try and stop her from blabbing.
But it was too late, and seeing Bernie’s torment, Kathy then tearfully revealed all about their role in covering up Keanu’s death that fateful Christmas night.
Realising Bernie would soon shop them to the police, The Six begged for time to say goodbye to their children, as Bernie rushed out.
She was later seen in The Albert calling her mum Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley), where she was unable to tell her about the horror she’d just learned and instead spoke about visiting her in Spain.
While Bernie is staying quiet for now, upcoming episodes will see Kathy fear another person may discover The Six’s murderous secret.
As Suki (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve (Heather Peace) continue to chat about their engagement plans, Nish gets Vinny (Shiv Jalota) to speak to Habiba about arranging for her son Tye to visit.
Knowing Tye’s arrival will hit a nerve for Suki, Nish relishes when Habiba agrees to the request.
Towards the end of the week, Kathy is shocked to find Nish and Suki playing happy families in the café with Tye, and later questions Suki on whether Nish can be trusted.
Is this a risk?
Or are Suki and Nish pretending to get along just for Tye?
