John’s Unexpected Soft Side Unveiled in Heartwarming Moment with Arthur – Fans Can’t Believe the Transformation!

Arthur Thomas (Alfie Clarke) has had quite the week in Emmerdale.

A few days ago, he tried to impress friend April (Amelia Flanagan) by attempting to chat with John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).

A harmless crush on the newest member of the village then spiralled into something Arthur struggled to control, as Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) overheard his conversation with Amelia and believed John had taken advantage of her teenage son.

Arthur soon confessed that he had lied about sleeping with John. In the café, he told Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) that he thought trying to impress John would make him appear more mature, but certainly didn’t expect things to get so out of hand.

After John apologised to Arthur, he was then completely embarrassed and utterly horrified when Laurel tried to be a good mum by talking to him about condoms and safe sex.

Of course, the last thing a teenage boy wants to do is talk to his mum about these difficult subjects, which is what John tried to help with in tonight’s episode.

Once Laurel and Arthur had yet another awkward conversation, John told the young man that he needed some help with work on his van later that day.

Arthur was quite shocked that John wanted to hang out with him, but happily went along to assist.

The work on the van allowed John to speak to Arthur about what’s been on his mind. He said that while he was in Australia, it felt like he was being the person he wants to be but in the village, it feels like he’s ‘just Arthur’.

John reassured Arthur and said that eventually, he will grow and find the person he’s meant to be.

Artur really appreciated the advice, even more so when John said that if he ever needed a chat, he would be around to listen.

Given the fact John barely spoke a word when he arrived in the Dales, this moment was very surprising indeed.

Will John start to change as he forms a new friendship with Arthur?
