It has been a few months since we saw Mary on Emmerdale. The soap has a vast cast, and it is understandable that when an ongoing storyline is focused on a certain set of characters, a few others take a back seat. However, this is often temporary, just as in the case of Louise Jameson’s Mary.
In a recent chat with Digital Spy at the Inside Soaps Awards, Louise Jameson teased that life won’t be so quiet for Mary Goskirk for too long. “They’ve given me a brilliant summer. I’ve just come back from Greece. I feel so blessed to have a holiday with a wage still coming in,” Louise gushed while praising and expressing her gratitude to Emmerdale.
Furthermore, the seasoned actress teased that the summer was quiet for Mary, but November will be raging. She teased a very intense and long-drawn family drama as part of her upcoming storyline in the ITV soap. “It’ll probably go over the whole year. But I can’t tell you any more than that, I’m afraid!” she told the media.
Not too long ago we saw Mary develop a secret crush on her friend- Suzy Merton. However, she backed out from confessing her feelings when her romantic rival Vanessa Woodfield blazed back in town. Mary feels that the chances of a romantic future with Suzy are bleak at best, “I don’t know – Vanessa’s got in there, hasn’t she? And who can compete with Michelle 9 who plays Vanessa.” she mused reflecting on the possibilities.
Interestingly, Lousie does not want Mary to find lasting love on the soap, at least not immediately. “If she finds love, all the drama stops. I’d like her to have another disaster!” the actress laughed. Well, we kind of agree with her, a happily ever after is often the death of characters and their storylines in the soapverse!
