ITV Emmerdale spoilers reveal Billy Fletcher’s devastating secret leading to violent attack
Billy's shifty behaviour has sparked concern among Emmerdale fans as it's clear he's hiding something. Next week, the hunk's secret finally comes to light, with harsh consequences.
Dawn and Billy Fletcher have been put through the wringer in recent months but in scenes due to air, the estate manager winds up on Mackenzie Boyd’s doorstep, bruised and bloodied.
In recent weeks, Emmerdale viewers have seen the character portrayed by Jay Kontzle acting increasingly shifty, as he was seen taking cryptic phone calls behind his wife Dawn’s (Olivia Bromley) back.
Regular fans of the ITV drama will also remember that the couple have also been crumbling under pressure due to their son Evan, who was born ahead of Christmas in December, 2023, being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. The young parents have spent most of their time in hospital while he is undergoing chemotherapy.
Spoilers for next week have revealed that the young boy is well enough to return home, but Billy’s secret starts to weigh on him and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) may be the only one able to help him.
Billy has been keeping a huge secret from his wife Dawn
Coming up next week, Billy is taking multiple furtive phone calls out of sight before he can later be seen hiding a pair of boxing gloves from his wife Dawn. Soon, the couple are excited to bring their son Evan home from hospital and Billy asks Mackenzie about finding him a cheap car to buy – but Mack is suspicious of his new found wealth, as he and Dawn have made no secret of their money woes in the past. But to top it all off, Billy is also sporting a mysterious injury.
Mackenzie gets the lead on a car the following day, while Dawn reminds her husband that he can’t be late for the hospital, where they are due to pick up their young son Evan. Despite this, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) later spots an anxious Dawn waiting for Billy and she offers her a ride.
However, Billy’s absence is quickly explained as Mackenzie gets a nasty shock when a bloodied and bruised Billy lands on his doorstep. The hunk begs Mack to help him, refusing to go to hospital out of fear of involving the police.
Mack agrees to help, but it comes at a cost as Billy soon spills the beans, explaining he was injured during an unlicensed boxing match. Billy drops another bombshell immediately after, when he admits he is fighting for money to support his family. Billy is quickly stitched up but will he ever tell Dawn about his fighting? Could it come between them?
Billy was initially thought to be working with Kim Tate (Claire King) who was rumbled as Will Taylor’s blackmailer. At the time, one fan over on Reddit hinted at the possibility that Kim may have an accomplice, wondering: “There’s no way Kim would get her hands dirty, so who dug the hole and carried the coffin etc?”, leaving one fan to respond: “I think it was Billy. Kim gave him that wad of notes Dawn found.” Another agreed: “I think it was billy.” But how will his new storyline evolve?
