Emmerdale viewers are buzzing with speculation after Friday’s intense episode, where Tom King (played by James Chase) was brutally stabbed. With several characters returning to the Dales this week, fans are convinced that one of them might be responsible for the attack on Tom.
Although Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) was seen rushing to the hospital to check on her husband’s condition, she was stopped by Vinnie (Bradley Johnson) and Sam (James Hooton), who were adamant about keeping her away. Confused, Belle asked, “What is going on?” Vinnie responded with a plea: “You shouldn’t be here.”
When Belle inquired about Tom’s condition, Sam expressed his brutal hope: “It would be best for all of us if he didn’t make it.” Belle, feeling guilty and conflicted, pushed to go inside but was blocked by her family, with Vinnie begging, “You need to go home. I’m begging you.” Reports from Leeds Live suggest Belle’s family is determined to protect her, no matter the cost.
Distraught, Belle confessed: “If Tom dies, that’s another life I’ve taken. How do I live with myself? And if he survives, and he turns me in, my life is over. He’s won, hasn’t he?”
However, despite Belle’s apparent confession, fans aren’t convinced she’s truly responsible for Tom’s stabbing. Instead, they believe another character could be the real culprit. While some suspect her brother Cain (Jeff Hordley) or even Lydia (Karen Blick), many are pointing fingers at notorious villain Lachlan White (Thomas Atkinson).
Lachlan, who wreaked havoc in Emmerdale back in 2018 with the murder of his on-screen mother Chrissie (Louise Marwood) and grandfather Lawrence White (John Bowe), is a prime suspect for some fans. One user on a fan forum speculated, “I think it’s Lachlan who got to Tom. He might have escaped or been released early.”
