Emmerdale exit ‘confirmed’ as favourite is let go from his job
John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) has made plenty of waves since his arrival in Emmerdale, but it looks like his time in the village could be over already.
The newcomer, who was introduced as the long-lost son of the late Emmerdale icon Jack Sudgen (Clive Hornby), made the decision to move on during Friday’s episode, after he was let go from his job at Butler’s Farm.
As fans know, this week saw John accused of setting up a bull attack on rival Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), which landed him in hospital.
After Mack was discharged, tempers flared between the men in the village, before Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) admitted she might have inadvertently caused the incident after leaving a gate open.
Mack refused to apologise to John, however, maintaining his stance that John was ‘a snake’ who was not to be trusted.
Back up at Butlers, Moira then reluctantly let John go from his job, admitting it would be impossible for him and Mack to work together moving forward.
Deciding it was time to move on from Emmerdale now that his van was fixed, he informed newfound half-sister Victoria Sudgen (Isabel Hodgins) he’d be leaving imminently.
Victoria was devastated as she realised there was no way of changing John’s mind, while his lover Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) also looked dejected to hear the news.
However, Aaron might yet give him reason to stay, as the end of the episode saw the pair hook up once again back at Mill Cottage.
Will John change his mind?
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
