Emmerdale ‘confirms’ who will expose cheating Will – and it’s not the blackmailer
Will Taylor’s (Dean Andrews) lies are on the cusp of exposure in Emmerdale after he received a text from a mystery blackmailer, who knows all about his passion with Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco).
Rose, as viewers know, rocked up in the eponymous village earlier this year and wasted little time in getting to know estranged daughter Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and her family.
Will was apprehensive about Rose’s motives, asserting to Dawn that her mum is nothing but trouble, but Dawn refused to believe him.
It turns out, however, that Will was correct, with Rose secretly in cahoots with Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly), who was keen to sabotage Will’s marriage to Kim Tate (Claire King), using Rose to do so.
Rose successfully manipulated her way into Will’s life once more, driving a wedge between he and Kim, with the former flames sharing a kiss.
Kim found out about Rose’s allegiance with Ruby – though not about Will having cheated with her – and swiftly took revenge, with Will helping her do so as they concocted a plot to get rid of the schemer once and for all.
Their efforts came back to bite them, with Dawn finding out about what they did and – despite knowing all about her mum’s lies and schemes – she decided to punish Will instead, moving out of Home Farm.
Kim, who had left to oversee business in Dubai, returned to the village on Thursday (August 29) and was horrified to learn about Dawn’s revenge. Despite the distance between she and Will, the Home Farm businesswoman offered her assistance, with the ice ultimately thawing between the couple.
Will believed the nightmare to be over, but there’s more horror to come as he received a blackmail note, with the sender making it quite clear that they know about his night of passion with Rose.
Is Kim set to find out about her husband’s betrayal? And just who is behind the blackmail?
Rose, Dawn and Ruby are among the possibilities, but another development hints that none of them will be the one to expose Will’s infidelity. During the same episode Will received the note, Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) discovered that Will had been unfaithful.
In theory, this makes her a potential suspect in the blackmail plot but, if we’re being really honest, blackmail doesn’t really feel like Lydia’s style.
It’s highly likely that Lydia will take word of Will’s betrayal to Kim herself, not wanting her best friend to be kept in the dark.
It would feel out of character for Lydia to keep quiet, especially after discussing the possibility of Will straying with Kim earlier in the year so, while the blackmailer might think they have the upper hand, it’s likely that Lydia will beat them to it in spilling the beans.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
