Emmerdale ‘confirms’ who will take down Caleb – and it’s not Jai
Caleb Miligan (William Ash) as been wreaking havoc on various Emmerdale residents over the past few weeks as his plan to become the village’s one and only businessman takes shape.
The ITV soap’s resident schemer, as viewers know, is planning on building an empire so big that he puts sworn nemesis Kim Tate (Claire King) out of business, taking back what he believes to be rightfully his legacy.
Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson), whose recent behaviour towards wife Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) has been deplorable, believes himself to be in cahoots with Caleb, but he’s got no idea that he’s being taken for a ride.
The former owner of The Hide sold his shares in HOP and has proven to be particularly malicious towards Laurel during divorce proceedings, ensuring all his assets are off the table – on Caleb’s say so.
But little does he know that Caleb isn’t actually his friend or even his business associate – the brother of Cain Dingle is simply out for himself and Jai will soon learn this the hard way.
Jai’s not the only one in Caleb’s line of fire, however, as Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) has also found himself in trouble thanks to the businessman, who put red diesel in one of Home James’ haulage trucks before tipping off HMRC.
Will remains in the dark about Caleb’s involvement in the incident but things are not looking good for Home James haulage, with Caleb ready to swoop in and get his hands on the business now that it’s on its knees.
The dastardly schemer, however, started to feel guilty about the impact his plan will have onJimmy King (Nick Miles), who is seriously struggling following daughter Angelica’s (Rebecca Bakes) imprisonment.
Caleb offered a friendly ear on Wednesday, with Jimmy believing the dashing businessman to be a mate, unaware of his true nature.
But despite demonstrating some degree of guilt, Caleb is still intent on following through on the plan, but the question is: is he underestimating Jimmy?
Could Jimmy perhaps prove to be the one who will take him down and expose his scheme?
The King patriarch certainly has a lot on his plate right now but it’s safe to say that he loves the family haulage business, which he’s been a part of for years, so it might be the case of him fighting with everything that he has to keep hold of it.
If this proves to be what happens, will he manage to put scheming Caleb in his place?
Let’s face it, Caleb nor wife Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) believe Jimmy is a threat, which could make him the ideal candidate to expose their scheming, as Caleb simply wouldn’t see it coming.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
