ITV Emmerdale viewers appalled over newbie’s roadside romp with ‘family member’
Soap fans have been left squirming after new character John Sugden made his debut on Emmerdale on Wednesday. He was seen sharing a steamy romp with Aaron Dingle.

Emmerdale enthusiasts have flagged up a major ‘problem’ with the newbie John Sugden’s romantic connection on the show.
Oliver Farnworth, who portrays John, turned heads when he popped up in Wednesday’s episode (August 7). During the episode, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) needed to borrow a car from Mackenzie Boyd (played by Lawrence Robb) for a discreet rendezvous.
En route, Aaron’s journey took a twist when he stumbled upon John Sugden and his busted van. It turns out they recognised each other from a dating app and what followed could only be described as spicy.
Aaron then went to the toilet outside, during which time John ended up robbing Aaron, driving off and leaving him in the countryside without his keys or wallet.
However the aftermath of John and Aaron’s frisky encounter has left fans a tad squeamish. Ever since John rocked up in town, fans have speculated that he might actually be Victoria’s (Isabel Hodgins) brother. This plot twist could mean heartache, as John could potentially be falling for his brother Robert’s ex-lover.
In a flurry, one fan darted online to an Emmerdale Facebook group proclaiming: “Aaron is going to fall for the new guy, Robert and Victoria half brother. Talk about keeping it in the family!”. Another viewer wasn’t impressed, saying: “I’m not happy with this,” and another predicted doom and gloom: “It’ll all end in tears…it usually does.”
Joining the skeptical chorus, someone added: “Can’t wait to see Aaron’s reaction when he finds out, let’s just hope it’s not a full relationship.” And to top off the dismay, another fan declared their fatigue with the storyline: “Aaron’s getting with John and to realise he’s a Sugden? Honestly, this soap is just so dead.”
