Cain comes to the rescue as struggling resident seeks his advice in Emmerdale
Emmerdale legend Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) has come to best pal Liam Cavanagh’s (Jonny McPherson) aid following his baby drama.
As viewers of the ITV soap know, Dr Liam is expecting a baby with child-killer Ella Forster (Paula Lane).
Proper soapy drama.
The two had an adorable early relationship when she began working at the Brook Cottage GP surgery, but before long it came to light that at the age of 11, Ella murdered her friend.
Understandably, Liam cut off from her when memories of his late daughter Leanna (Mimi Slinger), who was killed by wicked Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu), started flooding back.
We thought we’d seen the last of Ella, but earlier this month she returned – and revealed she is pregnant.
After finally sitting down with her to chat about the situation, Liam argued that he didn’t want to be a father again, and that it would be best for them to look at other options.
Sick of the judgement, Ella said she wouldn’t abort her baby just because of a mistake she made 19 years ago.
In tonight’s (26th July) episode, she confided in Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), the only person in the village who hasn’t turned their back on her, about how all she wanted was happiness.
The two enjoyed a cuppa outside of the Main Street Café together when Liam charged over and demanded that Ella would have no other option but to have an abortion.
Later, Cain rocked up at Liam’s house with a beer in his hand and asked him to open up.
Attempting to reason, he said that the baby could be a good chance for him to be a father again and that he didn’t want him to regret that opportunity in the future.
Liam once again expressed his concerns about the unborn baby’s safety and whether he could trust Ella to raise it.
Back at the salon, Ella had reached a conclusive decision – she wouldn’t be having an abortion. As Mandy got giddy over the prospect of the pregnancy, Liam walked in and demanded a paternity test.
Something tells us this won’t go smoothly!
