Emmerdale favourite Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) has been forced to face his grief for daughter Leanna in recent scenes, after learning that Ella Forster (Paula Lane) is pregnant with his child.

Liam was left devastated when he discovered that love interest Ella had murdered her friend when she was just 11-years-old, and swiftly put an end to their relationship.

It was all too close to home for the GP, after his own daughter, Leanna, was murdered by Meena Jutla in 2021.

However, his plan to have nothing more to do with Ella soon went up in smoke when she returned to the village with the huge bombshell that she was expecting his baby.

The news travelled around the village like wildfire, and soon Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) had paid Liam a visit to help him come to terms with everything.

In his emotional turmoil, Liam wondered if Ella had planned to get pregnant in order to tie herself to him – something that she was later determined to deny.

On her way round to explain all to Liam, Ella bumped into Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh), who wasted no time in targeting her, accusing her of faking the pregnancy altogether.

Ella profusely denied this, and continued on her way to tell Liam the truth.

However, when she got there, he refused to let her in, and she was forced to address everything through a closed door.

She insisted that the baby had come as a shock to her as much as it had him, but she argued that they needed to be able to talk to each other like adults.

Will Liam be able to put the past behind him and have a discussion with Ella about the future?
