Ella’s pregnancy ‘faked’ in grim Emmerdale development
Ella Forster (Paula Lane) arrived back in the Emmerdale village with a big surprise for Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) – that she’s having his baby. His immediate reaction was to brand her a liar.
Now it seems that he might not have been far off the mark.
Ella leaned on Mandy (Lisa Riley) for support while an incensed Liam refused to believe her baby is his, which left him looking like a bit of a plonker. But perhaps he was right to be suspicious.
It’s time for Ella’s first scan, so she invites Mandy along. She also gears up to comply with Liam’s request to have a paternity test. But while she’s at work, she starts experiencing nasty cramps.
Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) warns her she needs to get checked out, so she turns to the only person she trusts with her baby, Liam.
This interaction stirs something in Liam as the next day Liam decides he wants to join Ella for her scan. Paddy (Dominic Brunt) tries to reach out to Liam to offer him a bit of support man to man. But Ella’s having none of it – Liam has not earned his right to be at the scan after how he’s treated her.
The decision is taken out of her hands when she runs into transport issues and is once again forced to lean on Liam, so now he will be attending after all.
At the scan, the sonographer starts the proceedings, but they immediately hit an enormous snag that will leave them both shaken – the sonographer can’t find a baby.
Liam is apoplectic at being proven right; he knew something was off. He shouts Ella down by accusing her of faking her pregnancy to get close to him again.
Back in the village, a distraught Liam turns to Paddy for support as he balks at Ella’s audacity in creating such hurtful lies. It’s the lowest of low moves.
But having exploded at Ella in the hospital without pausing for breath means Liam’s missed something important. Is there more to Ella’s absent baby than Liam cares to admit?
