Emmerdale was full of explosive scenes on Thursday as Ella Forster returned to the village before she was involved in a car crash horror, where she dropped some big news
Emmerdale aired Ella Forster’s dramatic return to the village on Thursday where she dropped some big news.
During the latest instalment, Ella made her comeback to the village weeks on after her killer secret was exposed and she scarpered from The Dales, leaving love interest Liam Cavanagh rocked. On Thursday, a mysterious figure was seen watching the village and later Mandy Dingle was left panicked over an intruder at home, realising it was Ella.
A fragile Ella admitted she was back to collect the rest of her things and when she left, Mandy was conflicted as she misses their friendship. However, later on in a harrowing twist, Ella was involved in a car crash as Dawn Fletcher crashed her vehicle after she was accidentally spiked by her estranged mother Rose Jackson. Sam Dingle stumbled upon the wreckage and he called an ambulance for the two unconscious characters.
Later at the hospital Ella was left tearful as she realised she had no one to come support her in the ward. However, in a sweet surprise, Mandy showed up after learning from Sam about the car crash. It wasn’t long until Ella confided in her friend, revealing: “It turns out, I’m pregnant…” as Mandy was left stunned over the bombshell. Later, Mandy asked: “So it’s definitely Liam’s then?” with Ella confirming: “There’s no one else it could be!”

Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: “Ella pregnant….. #Emmerdale” with a shocked GIF, a different account put: “Ella’s pregnant?! Tonight’s ep is off the scale…! #emmerdale”, another wrote: “Ella is prego #Emmerdale!” while a different viewer added: “Liam’s baby then now that Ella is pregnant #Emmerdale!”
It comes as in a recent chat with The Mirror and other press, producer Sophie Roper teased Ella’s return storyline. Speaking about Ella’s return to the show, she said: “We have the other storyline recently, which had a really huge twist that was quite unexpected, but really powerful. Ella will continue in the show, and her past will continue to haunt her.
“Her relationship with Liam will remain complicated, and we’ll continue to question – will she ever get a happily ever after? Can she ever really escape the past that’s led her to this point?” There had been much speculation that Ella was somehow connected to Meena Jutla. However, Ella’s interest in Meena and Liam’s daughter – who was killed by the serial killer – was because she had killed someone herself when she was young.
Speaking about Ella’s feelings towards what happened in the past, Paula Lane – who plays Ella – said: “Ella is so ashamed of her past and she knows that as soon as she reveals all, she risks losing everything with Liam. Every time the truth has come out in the past, she has had to move on and start again, so it’s incredibly painful to share and know that there is no going back now.
“I guess she feels he deserves the truth especially with everything he went through with Leanna. It’s a heaviness she carries all the time in the back of her mind. Pretending to carry on as normal is a short term fix and behind closed doors the guilt is very real. Every birthday is a reminder of what happened and will never allow her to fully move on.”
