Emmerdale residents make grim Tom and Belle discovery as character goes missing

Emmerdale airs super dark scenes next week on the ITV soap as Charity Dingle and Cain Dingle set out to find Tom King and Belle Dingle, only to make an alarming discovery

Emmerdale airs a grim discovery for some residents next week on the ITV soap, as they are left fearing for the safety of a relative.

A character appears to go missing in dark scenes, as Tom King’s abuse towards wife Belle Dingle looks set to come to light. Cain Dingle and Charity Dingle are left panic stricken when they arrive at the couple’s Welsh cottage, where they’re visiting for a trip, only to find it empty.

The place is trashed and the walls are covered in blood, with Belle nowhere to be seen. The pair immediately fear the worst, but has Tom harmed Belle and where are they?

This could be the moment Cain finally realises his sister is in real danger, and Tom may find his abusive behaviour exposed. He has been coercively controlling his wife Belle for months.

Tom recently turned violent, but no one asides from Charity has noticed Belle is not herself. But next week it seems Cain finally believes Charity and the pair head off to find Belle – but are they too late?

Cain finds Tom’s surveillance equipment at their home as well as Belle’s phone. He realises Tom has probably been keeping tabs and fears the worst, so they head to the Welsh cottage before making the grim find.

Viewers will have to tune in next week to find out what happens next and if Belle is found. Cain actor Jeff Hordley teased the scenes to The Mirror and other press, hinting his character could seek revenge.

Teasing Tom’s downfall and how far Cain will go to avenge Belle if needed, he said: “It’s his little sister. If someone hurts his little sister there’s no saying what Cain would do.” Charity actress Emma Atkins added: “They do what they need to do.”

Jeff added on the possible revenge ahead: “I think it was almost inevitable that there was gonna be a time where Cain was gonna get wind of what’s been going on. It’s always interesting… Cain was once this not very liked figure by viewers when he joined.

“Now he is seen as this hero, who can go in and save the day for other people and not in a nice way.” As for Tom, he added: “He’s clever in the way he operates and he’s masking everything that is going on really well. We don’t have a clue.”

Jeff also confirmed there would be a comeuppance for Tom at some point. He said: “Well yeah, because everyone loves Belle don’t they. This is what we have to see. It’s an important storyline, this coercive behaviour that happens and people find themselves in these relationships.

“So it’s good that it has been told over a period that’s not too short. These things don’t just happen over a few months, it can be years.” On whether Belle is in real danger, Emma told us: “We immediately fear for her safety. There’s no one in the house and so we assume that Belle is in real trouble.”
