Emmerdale fans react as family torn apart when Samson Dingle’s plan ‘exposed’

Emmerdale tensions were at an all-time high on Monday night as the fallout of Samson Dingle’s lies continued to tear the family apart.

It looks as though there’s more trouble brewing for the Dingle family in Emmerdale as tensions reach boiling point.

On Monday night, ITV viewers saw Sam Dingle (James Hooton) plan to help his son Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) flee the village.

Knowing that his son could face prison time for what really happened with Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), Sam was eager to help him avoid further trouble by insisting he run away.

Although when Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) discovered their plan, she was seething as she insisted he turn himself in to the police and confess.

Furious, she highlighted that if Samson leaves the village, Matty will remain in prison for a crime that he didn’t commit.

It seemed as though Lydia’s chat with Samson sparked a shred of guilt as he was later seen at the police station.

Although he continued to defend his friend Josh (Osian Morgan) and explained it was his idea to try and rob The Hide.

Clearly panicking, Samson tried to imply Matty was acting in self-defence, as he lied to the police by saying he had picked up a bottle and threatened Matty.

When Sam learnt what Lydia had persuaded his son to do, he was furious and claimed he’d never forgive her for it, knowing Samson could get arrested.

Later on in the pub, Lydia decided to come clean to Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) by revealing Samson was going to run away.

Although she told them that she was the one who manged to stop him and he was at the police that very moment.

However, Cain saw red red when Sam entered the pub and flew into a fiery rant towards him. He wasted no time in scolded him for his son’s antics and even brought up his late wife Alice Dingle (Ursula Holden-Gill).

Seeing red, Sam punched Cain square in the face, catching him off-guard. As Moira and Lydia were seen next to their partners, it’s clear a divide has been created in the Dingle family.

It wasn’t long before viewers shared their thoughts on the explosive episode.

One viewer wrote: “About time Sam heard some home truths about himself and his precious son!! Good on ya Cain!”

Another added: “Sam has been an awful dad but Cain isn’t exactly the best dad in the world and he deserved that punch after mentioning Alice.”

Agreeing, someone else commented: “Cain was spot on Sam is too soft with Samson but Cain shouldn’t have brought Sam’s dead wife into the argument. ”

“I absolutely can’t stand Samson. And Sam is stupid for constantly protecting him. Sooner he’s gone, the better,” said another.

While one viewer tweeted: “Cain should’ve punched Sam back”

Emmerdale continues weeknights on ITV from 7:00pm.
