Rebecca Bakes will reprise her role as Angelica King in Emmerdale – and fans don’t have long to wait.

The star will be back on the long-running ITV soap in September, but she’s yet to kick off filming her comeback.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun and other media at the Radio Times soap awards, Rebecca said: “It should be at the end of September, so in a few months maybe!

“I don’t really know because we haven’t started filming anything yet.”

Viewers had watched teenager Angelica kill her pal Heath during a joy ride with his twin sister Cathy over the New Year.

Angelica was later charged with Heath’s death and slapped with a custodial sentence in court.

At the time the judge told her: “Having pleaded guilty to the offences of death by dangerous driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and aggravated vehicle taking, I feel there is no alternative than that of a custodial sentence.

“However taking into account your guilty plea, the pre-sentencing report and statements provided by friends and family, therefore that sentence is considerably shorter than it would have been.

“Angelica, you are sentenced to eight months detention at a secure children’s home.”

Recalling when she was given the scripts to the horrific crash, Rebecca added she always knew it would be her driving.

When quizzed if Angelica would be a changed person when she returns, the actresses teased: “I don’t know, it could go in the direction of her being a rebel or going a bit downhill but I don’t really know yet!”

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
