ITV Emmerdale’s Samson Dingle flees village after 18 years in Cain and Moira twist
Matty Barton is in grave danger while behind bars as Samson Dingle plans to flee to avoid giving evidence at his trial, but one person vows to stand in his way
Emmerdale’s Samson Dingle has dropped a bombshell as he revealed his intentions to leg it from the village as soon as possible.
In Monday’s episode (July 8), Josh Cope spilled the beans that he and Samson are speeding up their plans to gallivant across Europe, planning to make their getaway in just a few days. The lads have been spinning lies about Matty Barton being the one who knifed Samson, and now they’re under the watchful eyes of Moira and Cain Dingle.
Fans of the ITV soap will know, Matty is currently serving time in prison after Samson told the police false allegations over the recent incident at The Hide. Samson was accidentally injured during an attempted robbery at the bar and restaurant last month but has said Matty hurt him on purpose as the teen’s friend Josh encourages him to lie.
This pack of lies has driven a wedge right through the Dingle family, with his dad Sam and uncle Cain, who’s also Matty’s stepdad, at loggerheads. While Moira and Cain are backing Matty, Sam and Lydia are sticking by Samson, swallowing his tall tale hook, line, and sinker, reports the Express.
But tonight, Samson let slip his escape plan and pointed the finger at Moira and Cain for his dash. Sam was baffled by his son’s sudden urge to scarper before Matty’s day in court, but Samson wasn’t having any of it.
“You can’t run off you know”, Sam tried to reason with his lad, who shrugged it off.
“I just don’t get why everyone is on at me when I’m the one that got stabbed”, Samson moaned to his old man, “They all hate me. Cain and Moira do and I’m scared at what they will do to me.”
Samson was seen expressing his feelings, saying that he thinks he might find peace by leaving the village, he stated: “I need to get away, just for a bit” and added: “Please dad I feel like everyone is watching me and its stressing me out. I just want things to be normal again.”
On the other hand, Moira discovered Samson’s intentions of fleeing and tried her best to hinder his plan by looking for his passport but failed in her attempt.
Moira shared her worries with Mackenzie Boyd, telling him about the necessity to keep an eye on Samson so as to prevent him from leaving the country as they feel his sense of guilt.
Their discussion was then interrupted by Amy Barton who came with the news about her son Matty’s improved condition. She told Moira that a new solicitor seemed optimistic about securing Matty’s release from prison.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
