Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper has teased a huge stunt in the Dales – and filming is already underway.
The ITV soap are known for their huge stunts and it looks like there’s set to be another one very soon. A few years back, fans were left stunned by the incredible Hotten Bypass crash, which involved multiple characters and last year, viewers watched on in horror when Chloe Harris’ car hurtled down the side of a cliff, with her boyfriend Mackenzie choosing to save Charity.
It looks like there will be some more stunts on the way, with soap bosses currently filming for some big scenes. Speaking about what’s coming up, she told The Mirror and other press: “We’ve got a lot of stunts coming up – some we’re actually filming this week.”

Teasing more about what’s to come and giving a clue to what we can expect, she added: “What I can tell you is there will be fire engines involved. So take from that what you will. It’s going to be a really explosive week of Emmerdale.
Aside from the stunts, there will also be some big scenes between fan favourite Belle Dingle and evil villain Tom King. Viewers will know Tom has been abusing and gaslighting his wife – but will she be able to escape from him?
Speaking about the hard-hitting scenes, she said: “Belle and Tom is obviously a huge storyline for us at the moment and incredibly important but difficult storylines to watch at the moment. It’s resonating with our audience because, of course, it’s such a huge, real issue. We’re continuing with that story, trying to be really truthful to those kinds of relationships.
“We’ve got a special episode coming up that sees Tom and Belle head off to Wales on a trip away together. Actually we recreated Wales in Yorkshire. Our fantastic design team used a cottage in the village that we redressed and made this beautiful Welsh retreat. The story, set to the backdrop of this beautiful cottage, is going to be really hard-hitting.”
She added of what’s to come in the harrowing scenes: “Tom is very much isolating Belle from her family, from her surroundings, from everything that she knows and loves, which is unfortunately a typical trait of abusers. It will be difficult drama at moments, but a really important message and a really important story to continue to tell.”
