Emmerdale Tom’s fate revealed after electrocution — but fans are not happy
Emmerdale bad guy Tom King ended up lashing out and electrocuting himself, with him left lifeless on the floor in a recent episode - and his fate has now been revealed
Emmerdale bad guy Tom King’s fate has been confirmed after he was electrocuted.
The character, played by James Chase, rocked back up to the Dales last year, after a decade in Saudi Arabia. And it didn’t take long for him and former flame Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) to rekindle their romance.
So much so, that earlier this year, the pair tried the knot. However, viewers have seen the son of the villainous Carl King emotionally abuse Belle over recent months.
At the start, he belittled her choices and undermined her – even criticising her wedding dress choice. But over the past few months, Tom has become more controlling of Belle. The coercive control storyline escalated in recent weeks, with him attacking his partner and things are only set to get worse.

What’s more, Belle recently found out she was pregnant. But knowing she couldn’t have the baby, she went ahead with a termination – without telling Tom.
She instead told her abusive husband that she suffered a miscarriage. During Monday’s episode (June 24) Belle was visited by her mental health care coordinator, while Tom was out at work.
After opening up about her relationship with Tom, Belle was urged her to leave. Hesitant at first, she eventually agreed and packed up her things.
Meanwhile, Tom was at the new Barn. And after discovering Belle had lied to him and terminated their baby recently, he was full of rage. Armed with an iron bar, things took a dramatic turn when he swung against the barn’s rotary isolator behind him.
The soap baddie was electrocuted and thrown against a beam, knocking him unconscious. Tom was quickly rushed to hospital – causing Belle to backtrack on her escape plans.
She visited the hospital and was told Tom was momentarily dead. However, things turned seriously sinister when Tom, in his hospital bed, turned to Belle and told her: “I’m never leaving you.”
Reacting to Tom pulling through, fans were not happy. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “I wish Tom didn’t survive that.” Someone else added: “Tom’s alive?? FFS.” A third said: “This is going to go on for months!”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
