EMMERDALE’S Tom King’s abusive secret has finally been exposed tonight – and the woman who knows is on a mission to save pregnant Belle Dingle.
The cruel vet – who is played by actor James Chase in the ITV soap – has been terrorising wife Belle with controlling, violent and disgraceful behaviour for months now.
And while Belle has been suffering in silence, terrified to tell anyone about what’s happening to her, Tom has convinced others she is abusive to him.
But tonight that all changed when Tom overplayed his hand and publicly announced Belle’s pregnancy to his family.
A horrified Belle struggled to hide her upset and later Tom booked an appointment and they went to the doctors for her pregnancy check-up.
“I just wanted to make sure everything was fine,” said Tom before adding: “Oh while I remember, could you make sure on the system that it sends me all of Belle’s appointment details as well?
“I just want to make sure she stays on top of things.”
But nurse Wendy Posner soon cottoned on to what Tom really wanted – and she’s finally seen him for what he is.
She swiftly and professionally kicked Tom out and when he declined she told him: “That wasn’t a request.”
Once she had Belle alone, Wendy said: “I have to ask you Belle, is everything OK?”
Belle was hesitant but opened up slightly so Wendy told her: “You know whatever you tell me, it will stay within this room. You can trust me.”
It was clear that Wendy knows exactly what kind of man Tom is – but the question is what will she do?
