Truth about Ethan Anderson’s death exposed in Emmerdale – with unexpected results
Ethan's father Charles is dealing with the aftermath of his death
EMMERDALE spoilers suggest the truth behind Ethan Anderson’s death could soon be unravelled.
Ethan (Emile John) was suddenly killed off last month after sustaining injuries in a hit and run caused by Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly).
The incident followed Ethan and Ruby’s son Nicky (Lewis Cope) being involved in a drunken car crash while rushing to get to Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana), Nicky’s boyfriend.
Ethan had been the driver but fled the scene of the accident, leaving his passenger Nicky for dead.
Later, Ethan tried to conceal his involvement in the accident.
After Ethan’s hit and run at Ruby’s hands in retaliation, he was hospitalised but following his return home, he tragically passed away after collapsing while talking to father Charles (Kevin Mathurin).
Spoilers for scenes yet to air indicate Ruby is feeling guilt for her actions and wants to help.
She becomes a confidant to Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker), and visits the church, where Charles allows her to comfort him.
At Mill Cottage, Ruby is desperate for a relationship with Nicky and vows to turn herself in.
Nicky can’t help but console his mother after she bursts into tears, while Charles stands over Ethan’s freshly dug grave and struggles to make sense of what has happened.
Meanwhile, Caleb (William Ash) is left stunned when Ruby reveals she wants to turn herself in for Ethan’s hit and run.
He attempts to convince Ruby otherwise, but she remains determined.
While visiting Woodbine, Ruby fears the worst as a shell-shocked Charles reveals the coroner has established a cause of death for Ethan.
The grieving father also struggles to lead Ethan’s funeral service as it gets underway at the church.
Later on at the Woolpack, Manpreet is hurt when Charles drunkenly asks her to go.
Actor Emile John began playing the role of Ethan in 2021 and starred in the ITV soap for three years before his departure.
Prior to Ethan’s exit playing out on-screen, however, viewers were speculating that Emile had quit Emmerdale following a series of mysterious social media posts.
After his exit was confirmed, Emile bid farewell to the soap in a message posted on Emmerdale’s social media.
Addressing the viewers, he said: “Good evening, guys. If you’re watching this, then that unfortunately means that Ethan Anderson has passed away – and therefore means he will no longer be in the village.
“I just want to say a huge thank you to all the cast and all the crew that I’ve worked with over these three years.
“It’s absolutely flown by. A lot of the cast have sort of just taken me under their wing. It’s been such a ride, such a journey and one that I’ve really learned so much on.
