Tom twisted things during his doctor's appointment with Liam to make it seem like Belle is the one with the anger issues
TOM King loses control of wife Belle Dingle as his sinister plan backfires in Emmerdale.
The twisted vet has physically lashed out at his new spouse twice in as many weeks on the ITV soap.
A distraught Belle told him their marriage was over, but he begged her for a second chance and promised to get help for his issues.
But during his doctor’s appointment with Liam Cavanagh, Tom manipulatively threw Belle under the bus when he instead said Belle was the one with the problems.
He implied she had behaviour issues and anger problems, and was exerting coercive control over him.
While Emmerdale viewers know the truth is the opposite, Liam absorbs Tom’s lies.
Later this week, it is the anniversary of Lisa’s death and Tom controls the day by engineering it that Belle waits in for a parcel for him, rather than join Lydia and Sam in a memory picnic for Lisa.
Meanwhile, at work Vanessa and Rhona prepare for Tom’s performance review but Tom is angered when he realises he’s about to receive some criticism. It’s clear he doesn’t handle the review well.
After Tom learns Belle didn’t wait for his parcel after all his fury boils over but Belle sees red when Tom turns the tables and blames her for ruining the day and makes some harsh comments about her mother.
Finally snapping, Belle pushes Tom over as the villagers watch on in disbelief.
The move has big repercussions for the couple, and in upcoming Emmerdale scenes, Tom’s chilled by the possible implications when Lydia reveals that Belle has asked for her to visit rather than him.
Frustrated, Tom comes up with a plan to further control the situation.
But will he be able to continue manipulating Belle without anyone realising what he is up to?
Emmerdale viewers were left rightly furious over his actions during Monday’s episode.
Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one wrote: “Tom is so revolting in and out. When is he getting found out?”
Another added: “Not surprised by Tom at all. Classic narcissist behaviour with the upping the ante when it comes to gaslighting and convincing everyone else that she’s the crazy one and he’s the victim. He chose her knowing she had MH problems.”
