Emmerdale star Dominic Brunt shared a moment of gratitude for his time on the beloved soap.

The Paddy Kirk actor, 54, shared a post of the soap logo on Twitter/X with the caption reading: ‘Da da da daaa. I was sub-letting a friends sofa in London when I got a call for an audition in Yorkshire for Emmerdale. 8 episodes.

‘I joined for episode 2169 Feb 10th 1997. It changed my life. I love that program and the people who work there to my marrow. Ep 10,000 tonight. X.’

Fans sent their love to the actor, with @paulphiliprobe1 adding: ‘Congratulations emmerdale has been sensational and emmerdale family.’

As for Dominic’s soap character Paddy, it was recently confirmed him andand Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) will wed again soon.

The iconic couple were first married in a fairytale inspired ceremony 25 years ago.

They got together shortly after Paddy’s arrival in the ITV soap in 1997, but their relationship faced several hurdles when his mum Barbara (Judi Jones) tried to split them up and faked a terminal illness to reconcile with her son.

After their first marriage, Mandy began to feel inferior to her husband, who was university educated, and began a college course in Hotten.

Engaging in a steamy fling with her lecturer, their marriage seemed to be over and they grew further apart when she had to spent extended periods of time caring for her dad in Southampton.

At a recent press event, Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw confirmed that they would be going through with their second marriage.

‘Obviously their love story is brilliant, and it’s been nice to see a throwback to their original Cinderella and Prince Charming wedding.

‘There will be wedding bells for them in the not too distant future but I can’t really tell you anything more than that because its still being storylined.’

‘It’s sure to be a lot of fun though.’
