Emmerdale fans fear brutal death as Tom King attacks terrified wife Belle Dingle
Emmerdale fans were terrified for the loveable Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) after her husband punched her in a fit of rage when he learnt she had made up with Mandy Dingle
Emmerdale viewers are terrified that Belle Dingle could be killed off after her husband Tom King brutally punched her on the ITV soap.
Over the past few months, the long-running show has been tackling the sensitive topic of domestic violence through the blonde bombshell’s marriage to Carl King’s son. The junior vet, played by James Chase, has tried to exert control over his wife by gaslighting her and keeping an eye on her every new.
More recently, Tom has tried to pressure Belle (played by Eden Taylor-Draper) into have a baby despite her wanting to climb a few notches on the ladder first. Earlier this week, the coercive husband tried to drive a wedge between Belle and her long-time pal Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley).
But things escalated to a whole new level during Thursday’s visit (May 16) to the Dales. The show opened with Belle inviting Mandy and Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) over to make up after an explosive row in the Woolpack.
But when they were alone, Tom turned on her when she discovered he had been spying on her at work. Things soon took a turn for the worse when Tom lashed out after she warned him that he may need some counselling for his mental health.
It was at this point that her other half heartlessly punched her in the stomach, leaving her with a nasty bruise. But this isn’t the first time he has hit Belle after he slapped her when she rejected his proposal last year.
After watching the dramatic scenes unfold, viewers flooded to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their suspicions that more sinister times are ahead for Belle. Many soap fans believe that she may be killed off on the show if someone doesn’t intervene soon.
One user warned: “One of these days Tom is going to put Belle through a wall. Run. Belle. Don’t look back.” Another agreed: “This b*****d is going to harm her.”
A third echoed: “If Belle stays with him after that punch then there is no hope for her!!” Meanwhile others believe that the blonde beauty will get her own back and deliver the final blow on her husband.
One predicted: “This storyline is obviously leading up to Belle killing Tom” as another added: “When the Dingles find out, Tom will be a dead man and I cannot wait.” Towards the end of the episode, it became clear to Belle that her marriage to Tom needee to end when she kicked him out of the house.
Many viewers rejoiced but with spoilers confirming she’d be lashing out at Tom herself next week, some of them knew it would be too soon for her to escape this ordeal. One user theorised that Jimmy King (Nick Miles) could bring his nephew down.
The predicted: “Tom showing Jimmy his puppy cam could be the start of his downfall.” Another teased a murderous revenge: “Cain will put Tom 6ft underground when he finds out.”
Viewers will have to stay tuned to find out what will really come of Tom King and whether he will ultimately kill his wife. Emmerdale airs on weekdays from 7.30pm on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
