Emmerdale will air some sad scenes next week as one character gets a heartbreaking diagnosis.
It is a big week on the ITV soap, which sees a young resident diagnosed with a devastating illness whilst elsewhere an affair is ‘sealed’ for Manpreet and an unlikely resident. A new feud is also brewing between Ruby and Moira, which will no doubt lead to some big scenes between the two strong women after their husbands fell out too.
It also looks like there could be a split on the cards for one pair of residents whilst Chas Dingle struggles as she decides to face her mastectomy scars head on and Belle is left worried when she convinces herself she might be pregnant.
Heartbreaking diagnosis
Dawn and Billy are left devastated this week when they find out their son Evan has leukaemia. In heartbreaking scenes, Dawn spots a bruise on Evan’s leg and calls the surgery, where Dr Liam urges them to take Evan straight to A&E.
Whilst there, little Evan has a number of blood tests, and Dawn and Billy are on edge, terrified that they will be accused of hurting their son. However, in heartbreaking news, the paediatrician organises an urgent bone marrow biopsy and later, the family’s fears are confirmed when the doctor notices that Evan has low haemoglobin and platelet levels.
Dawn struggles to soothe Evan and Billy returns home where he tells Will and Kim about the potential diagnosis. They rush to the hospital to be with Dawn as Evan is taken for his biopsy. The next day, the couple are devastated as the results of the bone marrow biopsy come back and they find out little Evan has a form of leukaemia.
Affair ‘sealed’
Elsewhere, Manpreet finds herself with a new crush after a drunken confession. Ella arranges drinks for some of the ladies of the village, with Claudette being invited too. Mandy and Gail join as well and even Claudette enjoys a drink. There is clear chemistry between Claudette and Bear, but it’s also clear that Manpreet has a crush on Billy.
Ella notices that she is sweet on him and pulls her outside for a chat, where Manpreet confesses that she has a crush on Billy. Ella warns her not to go any further, but later, Manpreet ends up grabbing Billy with both hands and kissing him on the lips.
The next day, Ella tells Manpreet she doesn’t need to tell Charles about what happened, but she should speak to Billy. She later apologises to Billy but her words are overhead by Charles. He is furious and storms out – is their relationship ruined?
Feud revealed
The week starts off in a good way for Moira and she is delighted when Isaac shows an interest in the farm. However, he’s quickly set back when he sees an abandoned lamb, leaving him shaken. Ruby is left furious though when Moira accidentally splashes her whilst driving – and things just escalate from there for the warring pair.

On a single track road later, Moira and Ruby come head to head and both refuse to back down. There is a tense stand off between the pair. Caleb urges his wife to apologise to Moira, but instead she starts a vicious rumour.
Chas struggles
It is a tough week for Chas Dingle as she steps into the Woolpack for the first time wearing prostheses after her mastectomy. Charity assures her that she doesn’t need them but an insensitive comment from Kerry leaves Chas fuming.
She refuses to be defined by her breasts, and in a heartbreaking chat, Chas admits to Charity that she doesn’t feel brave enough to face her surgery scars. They agree that together they will look at the scars, and bravely she lifts her top to confront her new reality.
