Emmerdale legend sees red and attacks rival as she’s compared to sex abuser
Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins) isn’t exactly a much-loved member of the village right now in Emmerdale.
This week, after learning Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) had been offered the chance to study in Berlin, Vic was taken aback when he revealed he didn’t want to go because he hated the thought of leaving her.
This gave her food for thought and, during Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Matty’s (Ash Palmisciano) wedding, Victoria told Moira (Natalie J Robb) she isn’t sure if her relationship with Jacob is stable enough to last.
With that, she sat Jacob down and said she doesn’t love him and of course, he was heartbroken.
He rushed over to the shop, updated Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) and Eric (Chris Chittell) and said he isn’t sure what his life looks like now Vic isn’t in it.
In this new video, Victoria returns home to the village after an afternoon with Wendy (Susan Cookson). They’ve had bottomless brunch, and it’s clear Victoria enjoyed the alcohol a little more than the food.
As they laugh, a downbeat Leyla approaches.
Leyla wastes no time in confronting Vic about Jacob deferring his studies, but Victoria doesn’t have a clue what she’s talking about.
After referencing Vic’s past relationship with David (Matthew Wolfenden) – Jacob’s dad – Leyla delivers a hugely cruel move by telling Victoria she’s just as bad as Maya Stepney, the person who abused and groomed Jacob when he was at school.
Horrified, Victoria slaps Leyla round the face – but what consequences will she face for this?
