Emmerdale pregnancy as Kerry Wyatt discovers she’s expecting Al Chapman’s baby?
EMMERDALE favourite Kerry Wyatt could be set to discover she is expecting Al Chapman's baby in upcoming scenes on the ITV soap following the events of Thursday night's episode. Will they be able to cope with a young child?
Kerry (played by Laura Norton) has had a dramatic start following her return to Emmerdale a couple of months ago, as she was thrown into the centre of a high-octane gangster storyline. The ITV soap favourite is now hiding in the village from said villain and she has been trying to rebuild her relationship with her daughter, Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson). However, she has fallen for Al’s (Michael Wildman) charms and after sleeping together, she could be set to fall pregnant with his child in a brand new plot for the troublesome pair.
Thursday night’s episode began with Kerry sneaking out of the Woolpack after sleeping with the businessman, but as the back door was locked up, she had to leave through the front.
Everyone saw her leaving, including Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), who made some remarks about her bedding Al.
Amy was taken aback when she discovered what had been going on and when they returned home, they received a visit from the village villain.
Feeling awful about the drunken fling, she told her egotistical lover: “I’m sorry I got drunk and made a big mistake with you.
“Now, I know I might look like easing pickings to someone like you but believe it or not, I don’t just drop my draws for any Tom, Dick or Al with a load of cheesy lines.”

“Because, believe it or not, I do still have some self-respect just when I’m drunk, it seems to go,” she continued to tell Al.
“If this is you coming around here looking for a repeat performance, you can sling your hook because it’s not going to happen.”
After Amy left them to it, the pair continued their conversation, with Kerry explaining she felt humiliated with the village knowing what they’d been up to.
“You shouldn’t care about what people think,” the businessman remarked, with the mother of one stating: “We both know what last night was.
“It was a drunken mistake. You don’t need to come up here and explain that,” she added, with Al telling her he didn’t view it as a “mistake”.
“Look, I like you. You’re honest, upfront, you’re funny too and if you let me, I’d like to buy you dinner,” Al said.
She wasn’t going to accept his offer too quickly as she told him she would think about it, leaving him to hang on a thread.
This might seem as if it’s the beginning of a new relationship in the village, but it could also be the start of a storyline that sees them try to get their heads around having a baby.
Because they were both drunk at the time of sleeping together, there is a chance they might not have used protection.
In this case, Kerry could have conceived, but it might take her a few weeks to discover she is expecting her second child.
Having not been the best mother to her eldest daughter Amy, she could see this as her second chance of being a mother.
However, Al on the other hand might not be expecting to be a father again, especially as they only slept together once.
He has never been a good father to his son, Ellis Chapman (Aaron Anthony), and he would not want to make those mistakes again.
With both of the baby’s parents having different opinions on the matter, it would be down to Kerry to decide what she wanted to do, as she knows she would be a single mother.
Will her life be changed forever as she gives birth to her second child next year and can she right the wrongs of her past?
Viewers were sure Kerry was pregnant two years ago when she had an affair with village bad boy, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
The storyline of a baby for these two was never created but almost 24 months later, she could discover she is with child.
Speaking about her return to the show a couple of months ago, the actress who plays Kerry, Laura, hinted big twists were going to happen.
The soap star explained: “Oh yeah! I can’t wait. I’ve already heard about things coming up that are making me laugh and working with Emma [Atkins – Charity Dingle] means there’s been a lot of giggling on set.
“I feel like they’re excited to write for Kerry again because I’m getting some brilliant lines, which I’m milking a bit.”
“And I’ve got a few costumes. It’s still very classic Kerry with the bright colours,” Laura said in an interview with the press.
But could some of these costumes see her character in maternity wear as she prepares to become a mother for the second time?
Taking to Twitter, fans have shared their reaction to Kerry and Al’s affair after hints were dropped in episodes earlier this week.
