Emmerdale reveals unknown secret twist about Cain Dingle murder story
In 2022, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) went to prison for Al Chapman’s murder in Emmerdale.
Due to Cain’s history and past clashes with Al, the detective completely believed he was responsible.
Something that confused Cain’s family was the way he refused to fight and prevent a lengthy period behind bars. He pleaded guilty at the hearing and then donned the grey tracksuit and red bib, ready to spend years in a tiny cell.
However, during a chat with Moira (Natalie J Robb) in the prison visiting room, Cain ended up confessing that he didn’t kill Al – but their son Kyle (Huey Quinn) did.
Over Christmas, as the Dingles tried to enjoy the festive season, Cain was paid a visit by someone unexpected – his secret brother Caleb Milligan (William Ash).
Caleb was introduced to help free Cain and prove to the courts that Kyle didn’t mean to kill Al. At first, Caleb appeared as a strong, powerful character but the more we’ve gotten to know him, the more we’ve learnt that side of him is a bit of a façade.
In tonight’s (April 4) episode of the ITV soap, we discovered more about the real Caleb Milligan during another outburst from Ruby (Beth Cordingly).
Ruby was back to being chaotic and out of control after learning that Caleb was having second thoughts about leaving the village for Harrogate.
To say Ruby hates the Dingles is a bit of an understatement. She has barely given them the time of day ever since she arrived as she cannot understand why Caleb is so desperate to have a connection with a family who didn’t even know he existed.
In the pub, as Ruby’s behaviour spiralled once again, she told the Dingles that she knows Caleb better than all of them.
Because obviously, it’s a competition.
She stood up and told Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Charity (Emma Atkins) that when Cain was sentenced in 2022, they were in court.
Ruby told everyone how Caleb ‘cried like a baby’ afterwards because he hated the prospect of losing his big brother forever. She also said how she consoled him whenever he got emotional over his biological family, despite the fact she thought they wouldn’t be worth his time.
These scenes certainly did prove that Ruby knows Caleb like the back of her hand but her problem? She just never approaches situations the correct way.
After accidentally elbowing Chas in the chest, Ruby faced a furious Caleb, who believed the incident happened deliberately.
Caleb – who grew up in care and has always wanted to be around a loving family – told Ruby their marriage is toxic and he absolutely won’t be moving to Harrogate with her – he wants to stay in the village.
With his family.
