Emmerdale spoilers – Evil Tom King loses control in violent scenes as he explodes with rage
Tom King’s (James Chase) anger towards his lack of control over Emmerdale’s Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor Draper) has been slowly building with each time she’s told him no, but as he reaches breaking point, he’ll go off like a firework.
For weeks now he has been quietly raging at the fact Belle wants her own career and is not ready for children. This does not fit in with his life plan, which sees her birthing his children as quickly as possible to guarantee she can never leave.
Her desire to work at Take A Vow has been a huge spanner in the works and he has desperately tried to ruin this opportunity for her – first by intercepting Suzy’s (Martelle Edinborough) job offer in the first place, and then by trying to turn Belle’s first day in the job into a catastrophe.
Tom went to extreme lengths to get his wife’s attention as she started her new job, including self-harming in a bid to have her drop everything and come running.
When that embarrassingly failed, Tom scratched a prospective Take A Vow client’s car before savagely telling him to avoid working with the events company because Leyla is a coke addict.
But Belle remains defiant, and that does not fit with narcissist Tom’s plans.
After ruining Marlon’s birthday for Belle by undermining her self-confidence, Tom’s next extreme move is to put a tracker on Belle’s phone.
In his mind, this is a great way of keeping tabs on his wife, but the thing is, he now can’t let her know he’s aware of what she’s up to without blowing his own cover.
Belle awakens this particular beast when she texts him to say she’ll be late home from work, only for him to realise she’s in a moving car. She lies again when she says she’s still at work instead of the truth that she’s at the Hide having a lovely time.
Tom is already spitting feathers and calls her to see if she’ll tell the truth, knowing full well where she really is. Tom strains to keep his anger and resentment from Belle, pretending he’s fine with her changed plans. But when the call ends, the real Tom emerges.
Left alone with his rage, Tom fully loses control and within moments, he has trashed the entire house. With their possessions ruined beyond repair, will Belle finally realise she’s married a psycho?
