Emmerdale viewers think they have worked out why Tom King is really targeting his wife Belle Dingle on the ITV soap amid an abuse storyline, after their rushed wedding
Emmerdale fans think there could be more to Tom King’s abuse towards wife Belle Dingle on the ITV soap, after recalling a past storyline.
The characters reunited last year after Tom’s return to the village, while they had dated as teens. Since then there have been some worrying moments, with Tom being cruel to Belle before they rushed their plans to marry.
When Belle had second thoughts he guilt-tripped her into going ahead with things, while his control and manipulation has heightened increasingly in recent weeks. From controlling how she does household chores and sabotaging her work, or at least attempting to, it’s clear Tom is up to no good.
Belle has clocked on to some of his behaviours but doesn’t seem to be aware of the full extent of what is happening. From cruel taunts about her family, her parents and her upbringing to making her doubt her career abilities amid her hopes to join forces with Suzy Merton, Tom is displaying several forms of trying to control Belle, as well as isolating her and reducing her self worth.

Now, viewers are convinced they have worked out what Tom is really up to and his plan for Belle. Fas are speculating he might be out to get the Dingles as revenge for his dad’s death.
Carl was murdered by serial killer Cameron Murray back in 2012. His ex Chas Dingle was initially blamed for the death, while Cameron killed him amid his affair with Chas.
Tom never really got over his dad’s death even after he learned that he was a killer and he’d attacked Chas prior to her attacking him. Now, fans are questioning if Tom is back and targeting Belle as a means of getting revenge for his father.

Taking to social media, one fan posted: “I always thought there was something about him that wasn’t quite right. He’s not just controlling, I think there is more to it than that, but like he’s out for revenge for his dad, and using Belle to do it.”
Another said: “Obviously Twisted Tom has a twisted Dingle revenge plan in motion using Belle.” A third added: “Still think there is something not right with this Tom King. Think he has some kind of revenge in mind.”
