Emmerdale romance ‘sealed’ for Kerry and Bear as fans say ‘ew’ over sugar daddy plot
Emmerdale fans are certain Kerry Wyatt is hiding a huge secret that has nothing to do with stolen jewellery – and think she could be getting more permanent funds from somewhere else
Emmerdale fans are sure they’ve worked out an “icky” connection between Kerry Wyatt and Bear Wolf in the ITV Dales.
Since returning from her cruise ship job, Kerry’s been flush with money, which most fans presumed was from selling jewellery stolen from wealthy passengers. But Kerry claims she was set up by a crazed stalker on the ship, and has been spending money as though it won’t run out any time soon.
Now fans think she must have a more permanent source of income, and one that was worth returning to the village for. Plenty suspect she has a secret sugar daddy – and now fans are pointing at Bear as the likely culprit.
While some viewers initially thought PC Swirling – who dropped Kerry back home – could be involved with her cash grab plot, now fans think the flirty ex-wrestler could be trying his luck with Kerry, and funnelling money to her in order to keep her sweet.
Somebody else agreed: “I like Bear, but that man is desperate, he’s even after Claudette!” While a third fan said: “It’s more likely to be Rodney, he’s women mad!” Someone else then suggested: “It must be Will. None of the other characters have been away so couldn’t have been on the cruise ship.”
One fan even threw Dr Liam Cavanagh’s name into the mix, while others suggested Bob Hope and newcomer Amit. But another said: “It’s got to be PC Swirling for her to get away with the stash. He’s a plod, so he could easily ‘lose’ the arrest sheet. It’s a soap, so could be anyone lol.”
In reality, actress Laura Norton has been on maternity leave while welcoming her second child, daughter Ronnie, with her co-star partner Mark Jordan. Ronnie was born in October 2022, and now Laura is back filming.
She told Metro: “I think I’m in my third week and they’ve eased me back in very gently. I don’t know if it was deliberate, but I’ve had one day a week, I’ve done two days a week, now I’m doing three. So I feel like they’ve given me a nice opportunity to settle in.”

Both Ronnie and her older brother Jesse have been diagnosed with Usher Syndrome, which affects hearing and vision. It usually requires children to wear hearing aids for the rest of their lives and potentially causes sight loss in their teenage years. Laura and Mark are both carriers of the gene and unknowingly passed it on to their children.
She told Hello! magazine: “My intuition told me there was a serious problem and I was in tears at the thought of it. Knowing that we’d passed this on to our son was heartbreaking. To watch our little boy enjoy the world around him yet know so much will be taken from him, was painful.”
