Abuser Tom King’s fury as he is interrupted spying on wife Belle Dingle in Emmerdale spoiler video

Tom King (James Chase) is left furious in a new Emmerdale spoiler video when his attempts to spy on wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) are interrupted.

Belle is stopped on her way out of the café by an eager Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson), who informs her of Lydia’s (Karen Blick) plans for Marlon’s (Mark Charnock) birthday.

Belle assures him that she will be there, as she too has something to celebrate, having just secured a new job at Take A Vow.

As Vinny goes on to ask about Tom’s whereabouts, hoping to quiz him on dog Chip’s current condition, Belle’s first client pulls up in a flash car.

Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) has just enough time to warn Belle that her new client loves to flirt before he steps out of the car and turns on the charm.

As the client flirts away, Tom approaches, clearly listening in on the conversation, though Belle remains unaware.

However, he is soon spotted by Vinny, who rushes over to ask him if he can take a look at sick Chip.

Tom is clearly irritated as Vinny distracts him, but agrees to look at the dog while keeping one eye on his wife and her client.

Abuser Tom has already displayed signs of coercive control, with this storyline set to put a spotlight on the complex nature of domestic violence.

As the story continues, Tom will abuse Belle emotionally, physically, through the use of technology, plus isolation from family and friends, love bombing and manipulation.

Discussing this storyline, producer Laura Shaw said: ‘Soaps are in the extraordinary position of being able to highlight what happens behind the public face of an abusive relationship, over a longer period of time. The audience knows these characters so well, sometimes as well as they might know their own friends and family and they care deeply about them.

‘As harrowing as it can be to watch this type of storyline play out, it’s imperative that we use our platform to shine a light on domestic abuse, and help give a voice to people who have so often been silenced.’
