Emmerdale star Lisa Riley shares ‘devastating news’ as loved one passes away
Emmerdale star Lisa Riley has paid tribute to her Aunty Joyce, revealing that she sadly passed away last night (March 10).
The Mandy Dingle star explained how Joyce was like a ‘second mum’, and had been a ‘solid hand to hold’ since she was born.
‘My gorgeous Aunty Joyce has sadly passed away, joining my Mum, where they can now giggle again in heaven together,’ she wrote, alongside a collage of photographs.
In the lengthy tribute post, Lisa touched on the death of close friend Robin Windsor last month, explaining that she thought her ‘heart couldn’t hurt anymore’.

Lisa explained how Aunty Joyce had been a supportive figure in her life, revealing that she had been to ‘every single show she performed in since the age of seven’.
She went on to recall countless memories with her Aunty, including drinking her last glass of wine alongside her before becoming sober over eight years ago.
The actress has been open about her sobriety on social media, receiving support from fans when posting about different milestones.
Lisa recently spoke out about the death of her mother from breast cancer during a behind the scenes segment of a recent Emmerdale scene on Lorraine.
The scene involved Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) revealing her recent breast cancer diagnosis to her family members, and encouraging them all to get checked.
In the behind the scenes clip, Lisa encouraged viewers not to ignore any symptoms, reflecting on her mum’s experience.
‘What’s so important about this storyline is how early Chas found the lump, thanks to Dr Liam. For me personally, in my own family, my mum was an ostrich, she put her head in the sand,’ Lisa explained.
‘She thought it was something that would go away. It won’t go away. And you can’t be like that. My mum, personally, wasn’t that lucky. That’s a testament to why we are doing what we are doing today.’
