Emmerdale spoilers: Aaron Dingle makes major decision about his future
Yesterday in Emmerdale, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) was given some life-changing news from mum Chas (Lucy Pargeter).
After organising a meeting with her son, Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Caleb (William Ash), Chas told them she has inherited a faulty gene from Faith (Sally Dexter), which is the cause of her cancer.
She explained that because it came from Faith, it means there’s a chance Cain and Caleb will have it as well.
And because it is passed down to children, it also increases Aaron’s possibility of having it too.
Chas told the trio that a positive test for the BRCA1 gene increases someone’s chance of getting certain types of cancer.
If Cain was to take the test for example, a positive result will leave him faced with not only the prospect of maybe getting cancer, but the difficult task of telling his children they might inherit the gene as well.
Cain and Caleb are both aware of the importance behind taking the test but tonight, it became apparent Aaron wasn’t really thinking about it.
During a chat with Vinny (Bradley Johnson) at the pub, Aaron believed there wasn’t any point in getting the test because he doesn’t have any children.
Vinny pointed out getting the test might make Aaron feel better, but he adopted the approach of being kept in the dark – what he doesn’t know cannot hurt him.
Aaron asked Vinny to keep quiet but if Chas finds out his intention to not get tested, how will that make her feel?
