Emmerdale favourite reveals shock plans to quit the village – as she issues ultimatum
EMMERDALE favourite Charity Dingle has announced plans to quit the village – if husband Mack doesn’t leave instead.
The Woolpack landlady – who is played by actress Emma Atkins in the ITV soap – has been struggling to cope with her PTSD after killing gangster Harry at Christmas.
It culminated in dramatic events last week as Charity, having been woken up from a night terror where Harry was attacking her, accidentally stabbing husband Mack.
The tragic scenes sent her catatonic and she has struggled to come to terms with being a danger since.
Last night she was released from custody but just wanted to be alone.
In tonight’s episode Mack discovered Charity was home and discharged himself from the hospital so he could help her.
But she is terrified that she will kill him – or one of the kids – if any of them are around her.
“I was holding the knife,” she said as Mack tried to convince her that it wasn’t her fault.
He told her: “You were having one of your night terrors and you were confused.
“You’ve not been well. You’ve not been well for quite some time and I’ve been too caught up in my own stuff to notice.
“But I did notice, I just didn’t do anything about it and I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. You need some sort of help, someone to talk to, an expert or a counsellor.”
“You have to. Or I’ll go somewhere that you can’t find me. You go. Or I do.”
But will Charity leave the village forever?
