Emmerdale’s Belle Dingle traumatised as Angel’s life is put in danger

Emmerdale's Belle Dingle recently married Tom King on the ITV soap, but their romance has been anything but smooth sailing since he returned to the Yorkshire Dales.

In upcoming Emmerdale scenes, Tom King (played by James Chase) gives Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor Draper) the cold shoulder when she receives a job offer from Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough).

He reminds Belle that he had promised she would discuss the Secure Children’s Home with Angel King (Rebecca Bakes), given her own past experience, and makes her feel guilty for considering turning it down.

Soon, Belle has a serious chat with Angel as the reality of the situation sinks in. Emmerdale fans will know Angel is facing time behind bars following her role in Heath Hope’s (Sebastian Dowling) tragic death on New Year’s Eve.

Belle shares her thoughts on what other kids in the SCH might be like, which increases Angel’s fear.

She becomes worried that she might face similar mental health challenges as Belle.

When Angel’s father Jimmy King (Nick Miles) finds them both upset while coming down the stairs in Victoria Cottage, he comforts Angel and scolds Belle, who runs away in distress.

Upset about having her past brought up again, Belle feels even more regret when Tom backtracks on his idea of making her talk to Angel.

However, she is relieved when he promises to protect her in the future. But is he being honest with Belle?

Tom has been very controlling over Belle and even violent at one point when he pushed her to the ground during a row which left her with a cut head.

He doesn’t seem to approve of her vibrant family and just wants Belle all to himself, which concerns viewers who are worried about the vulnerable soap character.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter after Tom was vile to Belle, one fan wrote: “God help Tom when the Dingles find out how he’s treating Belle!! Whatever they are they are albeit family and Dingle code.”

Another pleaded: “Not sure I want to watch this unfold, Emmerdale for god sake show a woman fighting back – please don’t make her a victim (been there)show Belle as a strong woman who walks away …please show women can walk away from Social and Emotional abuse, please don’t go to the physical.” (sic)

Chris said: “Belle looked absolutely beautiful at the wedding, but it was already doomed. Tom is a petty child who needs a smack. Hope you’re not going to drag this abuse storyline out for ages. Think we’ve all got the message, another nasty plot we’re already fed up of.”

Pat remarked: “Belle is such a beautiful young lady and deserves so much better than Tom King, he’s such a good liar, manipulates constantly. Then love bombs though it’s all fake. I really hope Belle sees him for what he is.”

Will Belle finally start noticing the red flags and end their relationship before it turns from bad to worse?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
