Nicola King finds unlikely support as daughter Angelica faces years in prison in Emmerdale
Will the support be enough for Nicola?
THE King family are facing tough times as Angelica King could be sent to prison for her part in Heath Hope’s death.
Next week in Emmerdale, her distraught mother Nicola King receives the support of an unlikely ally. Is there more to it?
Bob Hope has been struggling with the death of his teen son Heath.
But when Jimmy King admitted he tried to get his daughter Angelica to lie about her part in the tragedy, the B&B owner became unforgiving.
However, one of his nearest and dearest, and a mother figure to his children Heath and Cathy, has decided to offer support where she could, knowing the death is affecting more than the Hope family.
Coming up on ITV, as Angelica King (portrayed by Rebecca Bakes) faces a custodial sentence, Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) offers the girl’s devastated mother Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) some help.
It all begins as Angel’s Youth Justice Worker tells them they have no choice but to recommend she receive a custodial sentence.
Nicola and Jimmy (Nick Miles) are heartbroken for their daughter and their stress is turned up a notch when they receive the date for Angel’s sentencing.
The couple are devastated that the time they have left with her is so short.
In other scenes, Nicola and Brenda discuss the impacts of the crash on both of their families.
When Brenda offers to give a witness statement for Angel, Nicola’s moved by her friend’s compassion.
Over at the B&B, a defeated Bob (Tony Audenshaw) hears Jimmy out.
Unfortunately, despite his touching speech, Bob’s unable to forgive him.
Later, Jimmy offloads onto Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), aware that he’s been through something similar with his own daughter Dawn.
Meanwhile, Brenda gives Bob some tough love but he lashes out at Cathy and immediately regrets it.
Elsewhere, Jimmy and Nicola are disappointed to learn that Brenda missed the submission deadline and there’s nothing more they can do.
What else could Brenda do to help?
Could Bob be giving her a hard time for her approach?
Tensions are at an all-time high between the Hope and King families, particularly as Jimmy was ready to lie and let Cathy Hope take the blame for Heath’s death.
As regular viewers of the Yorkshire-based program will remember, Cathy was initially blamed for Heath’s death as she came up with the idea to steal Wendy Posner’s car for a joyride outside the village.
And while she was at the wheel, Cathy eventually let Angelica take over, which resulted in a fatal car accident for Heath.
Will Bob ever forgive the Kings for nearly making him lose both of his children?
What’s ahead for Angelica?
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
