Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) has been left wondering what his future looks like with Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) following her kidnap of baby Ivy in Emmerdale.
Rhona made the decision to take Ivy away from the village after Gus (Alan McKenna) revealed his plan to move to France with the little girl. In case you need reminding, Rhona is only Ivy’s biological mother, meaning she has no claim to her legally under UK law.
Yesterday (February 13), Rhona spent most of the day in police custody following her kidnapping arrest.
She was shocked to hear that Gus was saying that she’d given him and his wife permission to use the frozen embryos and told the police this wasn’t the case.
In fact she refused permission and Gus then stole her passport and used the embryos fraudulently.
In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, Rhona was back at home trying to make the day as normal as possible. She joked about her view from her front door being entirely different to that of a prison window, and told Leo (Harvey Rogerson) and April (Amelia Flanagan) she was pleased to see them as they got ready for holiday club.
Despite her best efforts, Rhona slowly accepted that her family were not going to support her as much as she hoped. While Mary (Louise Jameson) was cold towards her daughter, April was short-tempered and obviously hurt Rhona had prioritised Ivy over the family she has in the village.
In the evening, Rhona sat down with Marlon and tried to apologise to him. He said he’s trying his best to help, but cannot shake the fact Rhona made massive decisions without even consulting him.
‘I just think, if we haven’t got trust, what have we got?’, Marlon wondered as he walked away.
Rhona was taken aback by the statement but she knew Marlon raised a good point. She had acted on ‘primal instinct’ and taken Ivy, failing to think about her husband, her mum and her two other children.
Now, after making a big mistake, Rhona is facing the prospect of prison and if she’s sentenced, life behind bars will be a lonely fare if she can’t fix her relationship with Marlon.
